When was the last time that you enjoyed a good laugh?
What was it that made you laugh?
Do you laugh enough?
I think you will agree that we all need to laugh more. Children tend to laugh about 300 times a day whereas adults will laugh about 17 times a day – I think we can all improve on these statistics!
Seek out opportunities in your day to laugh. Once you have this intention you may be amazed at the amount of funny events that happen in your day – who knows it may just end up being one of the best days of your life. Keep a funny journal with your children. Get them to focus on what is fun in their day and then remember it.
Comedian Victor Borge said “Laughter is the shortest distance between people”. To laugh with someone (not at them) because you can both see the funny side of some ‘drama’ can transform everything – it transmutes pain and negative emotions. The ability to make someone laugh is a blessing and keeps us all connected.
What about smiling – even if we feel we have nothing to smile about just shift your mouth into that position – you will find it is impossible to do this and not lighten up to some degree.
Just for today smile, lighten up, laugh and wake up your amazing soul! Remember that things happen to every single one of us and there will always be a lesson in those situations – it may be just as simple as to learn to laugh at ourselves.
